Monkey by rocket… to Mars

Monkeys are braver than humans.

This monkey is not the one going, but Russia may be planning to send a monkey to Mars. They'll first test how well they do for long periods in a space suit with a robot cleaning up after them. Monkeys and robots to Mars first! Maybe NASA will send a human.

Read more about it.

Monkey by Rocket… and hot chick too

Sketch by Rik Rocket.

A friend posted this sketch on Facebook today. You may not notice at first that there's a monkey in this drawing. Keep looking. Get a better look.

Flying Monkeys aren't just for Oz anymore

Label from Flying Monkey Patisserie in Philadelphia.

A friend recently posted pictures from his birthday on Facebook. They included cupcakes from Flying Monkey Patisserie and this very cool label and logo.

Their website is very well-designed. I hope to try something from there if I'm ever in Philly!

Karate Mon-kid

An amusing blurb of a story about a couple of monkeys who jumped their trainer.

Paint your own fence, sensai.

Strange unidentified monkey

I found this strange, unidentified monkey buried in my phone pictures. Wish I had more to say about it. It obviously has some function I forgot about. Diaper storage? Who knows?

Nothing funny here

There's nothing funny about this monkey with cheese.

This cute little fella showed up in a Fark thread discussion. There seems to be a lot of love for monkeys there.

Monkey place settings

Monkey plates

Monkey bag, place mats, bowls, cups

It seems monkeys are making it into all kinds of merchandise. The bag is super-cute. Not so sure I love the art on the plates, bowls and cups, though. It's slightly awkward, but maybe that's intentional.

Monkeys recognize pals

Why shouldn't they? Monkeys would recognize pictures of their pals just the same as you would.

Yahoo science type story about it here.

Monkey see, monkey recognize!

Chintastic monkey

Here's a chintastic monkey on some kind of Hoppity Hop rip-off in a drugstore display window. Is that a Grinch giving me the finger?

Monster monkey dolls at toy art show

These monkeys were designed by Bianca Panzram.

I went to the MF Gallery opening of the 2009 MF Toy Show last night in Brooklyn, NY. There were lots of crazy toys designed by talented artists. I wanted to take everything home. Some of it was gross, some was cute, some was weird, but nothing was conventional, and everything was inspirational.
These simple striped monkeys by Bianca Panzram were my favorites.
Artists and studios included:
Cupco! (fun site!)
Elmer Presslee (bonus monkey on the front page of the site)
Nikki Taylor (did I find the right artist here?)
Mary Doyle (bonus chimp on front page of the site :)

I'm thinking of heading back to buy a piece or two. I highly recommend it if you are into toys, in the toy industry, or just need to be inspired by some wicked art.

Silly monkey hat

This kid is bound to have siblings
who will use this against him in the future.

I needed some ideas yesterday, so I did a Google image search for "silly hat," and this baby with a monkey hat was among the results.

In case you want to buy this monkey hat, here's the link. It's at an Etsy Shop called Tip-Top Applesauce.

Here's the link for where it was found. A Blog called Upscale Baby.

And, of course, credit must go to the photographer as well. Blueberry Sky Photography. Nice work.

You've got monkey!

A monkey from AOL.

My sister-in-law emailed this to me wondering about the legality of posting the image on Millions of Monkeys. "It was on AOL this morning."

Hey, AOL, you're not gonna sue me, right?

Infinite monkeys

Well, someone finally tried it… to a miserable, failing extent. Someone gave "infinite" monkeys a million years to type Shakespeare. In the short time they gave, and the few monkeys they used, they did get mostly the letter "S," so isn't that a start?

We need more time!

Man-Ape bottle topper

Gorilla-face bottle topper at Royale, a bar in Brooklyn.

One happy hour while enjoying a tasty martini at Royale in Park Slope, Brooklyn - NYC, I spotted this ape-man or man-ape bottle topper. Is it a bigfoot? Is bigfoot a monkey? So much to ponder.
