Flying Monkey Costume
Found this bizarre image of a flying monkey costume from Germany. It comes from a list on the always unusual Cracked.com of The 30 Most Unsettling German Halloween Costumes.

NASA to start irradiating monkeys
All in the name of science, I suppose. Get your monkey-ass to Mars.
MSNBC article on why NASA will test to see how the radioactive environment of space impacts humans… or more accurately: how the radioactive environment of space impacts monkeys.
Or you could design a ship made of the stuff they put on your genital area when taking x-rays. That works, right?

Think Geek Monkey
Just placed an order at one of my favorite online stores ThinkGeek.com.
I forgot they have a monkey/brain theme.
Here's the monkey on my order confirmation:

Just got this in an email:

I don't care if you lick windows,
take the special bus or occasionally pee on yourself.
You hang in there, sunshine-you're friggin' special.
Every sixty seconds you spend angry, upset or mad,
is a full minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Today's Message of the Day is:
Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly,
Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile.
Life may not be the party we hoped for,
but while we're here, we should dance.
Cute. A bit rough around the edges, but the sentiment is nice.

Monkey artist

It's been a while since I've updated here. A fun project like this should not go neglected for so long.
Thanks go to Rik for finding this image in his Facebook friend's photo album

Blue Kong

A friend from college recently updated his Facebook with this picture. It’s a painting he did of a giant balloon gorilla that makes his home at a business not far from where I live in Brooklyn.
Here’s another painting he did of the same image.

Reading to Monkey

Getting Monkey Ready To Read is a blog by a mom about the books she's reading to her daughter. I came across it during a Google search, as my new book is on her daughter's reading list.

Wibbly icon
I found myself face to face with this fearsome monkey while messing around in Facebook. In one of the side panels they offer gifts to give to friends. This “Wibbly” was today’s gift.
Wibbly is today's new virtual gift. Visit the gift shop and send to a friend.

Surf Monkey

I spent a few days on the beach with my family. While my kids were skim-boarding, I sculpted a couple of sand creatures. Here's a Gorilla I made on Saturday, and on Friday I made a Monster. That's my son James next to the Monkey, and my son Ian is the one who's about to be bludgeoned with a shovel by some kid who was hanging around. You can see the monster and another shot of the gorilla here.
